Courtney Conquers is a drag artist, performance videographer, freelance writer, and obsessive knitter. She holds a feminist Masters degree, during which she completed a thesis about gender representation in works by Lady Gaga. Conquers is one half of the drag media collective Drag Coven, which she co-runs with her best friend and fellow drag artist Ja’mie Queen West. Together, they have spent the last five years traveling the globe to document performances by drag performers of all identities and levels so fans across the world can discover new artists and keep up with their favs, even if they can’t make it out to shows themselves. Drag Coven also makes sure that as many performers as possible have HQ content to use for promo and networking. Using her drag as a medium, Conquers performs, promotes and organizes events, runs meet and greets, assists other talent, provides networking, PR, and media help, and creates written content, usually pertaining to identity politics and the drag community. When she’s not hurtling down the road between cities, doing up another performer’s zippers, or knitting someone a scarf in the dark while she waits to film a drag show, Conquers can usually be found on social media, where she has vehement debates with misogynists and chronicles the unlikely friendship between her grandparents (who are also her roommates) and her very grumpy cat.
